What Qualifies as a Catalog?
To be eligible, a catalog must:
Be bound (stapled, stitched, glued, etc.) and contain at least 12 pages
Include product listings with images, descriptions, and pricing (or a way to access it)
Enable order fulfillment (via form, phone number, or website)
Be mailed as USPS Marketing Mail® or Marketing Parcels
Discount Breakdown
10% discount on qualifying catalog mailpieces
Mailings must be electronically submitted and pre-approved through the Mailing Promotions Portal on the USPS Business Customer Gateway
Discount is applied at the time of mailing; rebates are not available afterward
Boost Savings with Add-Ons
You can increase your total discount by combining the catalog promotion with up to two of the following:
Informed Delivery®
Adds a digital preview of the mailpiece via email
Adds 1% discount for mail owners and 0.5% for eDoc submitters
Sustainability Certification
Requires documentation of responsibly sourced paper (e.g., FSC or SFI certified)
Adds an additional 1% discount
Other Requirements
Enroll your CRID in the Register at least two hours before mailing
Submit samples (front cover and at least six pages) for pre-approval
Retain physical copies for 90 days after mailing for potential USPS audit
Only one promotion can be applied per mailpiece, though add-ons may be combined
