Canada Post National Strike: What SPI Customers Need to Know

Schumann Printers is committed to keeping our customers informed of developments that may affect your business. Our international delivery partner, International Delivery Service (IDS), has shared the following important update regarding mail service to and from Canada.

CUPW Launches National Strike

The Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) has launched a national strike following the government’s recent announcement on Canada Post’s transformation. This action has resulted in an immediate shutdown of Canada Post operations, affecting millions of Canadians and businesses across the country.

During the strike:

  • No mail or parcels will be processed or delivered.

  • Some post offices will be closed.

  • Scheduled pickups have been canceled.

  • No new items will be accepted until the strike ends.

Service guarantees are suspended for items already in the postal network.

What This Means for You

IDS has confirmed that all Canadian-bound mail and parcels will continue to be accepted, processed, and held securely until the strike is lifted. Once operations resume, items will be delivered as quickly as possible. However, please note that processing and delivery times may be impacted even after the strike ends, as Canada Post works through backlogged volumes.

Our Commitment

We understand how disruptive this situation may be for your business, and we will continue to monitor developments closely. SPI and IDS are committed to keeping you updated with timely information as the situation evolves.

In the meantime, rest assured that your mail is secure and will be delivered as soon as service resumes in Canada.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.
